Carnivals
We have 3 carnivals each year. Students wear their House T-Shirts to these carnivals. These include:
Term 1: Swimming – held at Sans Souci Pool. All 3-6 students are expected to attend. Competitors must turn 8 years of age in the year of the event. Participation is optional for 8 year old Year 2 students.
Term 2: Cross Country – held in the School Playground and Wonga Reserve. All K-6 students participate.
Term 3: Athletics – held at Sylvania Athletics Track. All K-6 students participate in age races and novelty events.

Premier’s Sporting Challenge
The Premier’s Sporting Challenge encourages students to be more active. Students from K-6 must complete 10 weeks of physical activity in order to quality for a Premier’s Sporting Challenge Bronze, Silver, Gold or Diamond Award.
PSSA Sport
Primary Schools Sports Association
Students in Years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to participate in an inter-district sports competition for the following sports.
Term 1 and Term 4 Cricket
Softball
Basketball
Term 2 and Term 3 Soccer
Netball
Term 4 Hockey – held Monday and Tuesday after school
PSSA Sport is held on Friday (except Hockey) during school time and requires students to travel to sporting venues by bus. Parents are most welcome to attend as spectators provided they adhere to the Spectators’ Code of Conduct.
As well as the PSSA competitions, students at Yowie Bay Public School also have the opportunity to participate in numerous sporting knockout competitions. These competitions include Rugby League, Rugby Union, AFL, Hockey and Cricket.
